Day 1: Desert Exploration and Night in Tembaïne

Your adventure begins in Tozeur, from where you will embark on a day full of discoveries. First, you will make a photo stop at Sidi Bouhlel Canyon, a spectacular site often used in films for its striking natural beauty. Next, traverse Chott El Jrid, Tunisia's largest salt pan, covering approximately 5,000 km². It's an impressive sight, a vast expanse of sparkling white under the sun. Continue your journey to Douz, a gateway to the Tunisian desert. Visit the local market for a glimpse into daily life and artisanal traditions before enjoying lunch in this charming town. In the afternoon, a 4x4 ride will take you through 100 km of desert to your camp near Tembaïne. There, amidst an ocean of dunes, you will enjoy dinner and spend the night under a tent, in a silence and vastness that invite contemplation.

Day 2: Return to Civilization via Matmata

After breakfast in the desert, head to Matmata for a day of cultural discoveries. Visit the Berber village of Tamazret, then explore a traditional troglodyte house in Matmata, offering a fascinating glimpse into architectural adaptations to desert conditions. You will also visit Sidi Dris, known for its appearance in "Star Wars" as the backdrop for the planet Tatooine. Enjoy lunch with locals to taste local cuisine and share a cultural exchange moment. Finally, on your return to Tozeur, you will pass through Hammet Gabes, with a memorable last look at the desert at sunset from Chott El Jrid, concluding your journey with a spectacular final image of the Tunisian desert.
